These 54mm flat burrs are designed as a replacement or alternative burr set for the DF54 coffee grinder. Each set contains two stainless steel burrs with a Red Titanium (AlTiN) coating for increased surface hardness and wear resistance. Choose between Espresso (Multipurpose) and Brew cutting geometries.
If you mainly make espresso or switch between espresso and filter, choose Espresso (Multipurpose). If you mainly make filter coffee and prefer a clarity-focused profile, choose Brew. The geometry is the main choice for how the burrs grind coffee; the Red Titanium coating is primarily a durability choice.
Choose Your Geometry: Espresso vs Brew
Both options have the same AlTiN coating, but their cutting geometries differ. The Brew option is designed primarily for coarser, filter-focused grinding; choose Espresso (Multipurpose) if espresso is an important part of your routine.

Red Titanium vs Uncoated Stainless Steel
Red Titanium burrs are stainless steel burrs with an AlTiN (aluminium titanium nitride) coating. Compared with the equivalent uncoated 54mm stainless steel burrs, the coated surface is designed to increase hardness and resist wear over extended use. The coating does not change the burrs' underlying cutting geometry.
Uncoated burrs can already provide many years of service in normal home use. Choose Red Titanium if the additional wear resistance matters to you. Compatibility
These burrs are designed for the DF54. A nominal 54mm diameter alone does not guarantee compatibility with other grinders: mounting-hole pattern, cutting orientation, burr thickness and chamber clearance can differ. If you plan to use these burrs in another grinder, contact us before ordering so we can help you check fitment.
Installation and Dial-In
Ensure the burrs are correctly seated after installation. Changing burrs can shift the grinder's true zero point and the dial settings you normally use. Re-check your DF54's zero point before grinding coffee, then use the DF54 Grind Settings Guide for approximate starting ranges and dial in to taste.
