Collection: 54mm Flat Burrs

54mm Coffee Grinder Burrs

Explore our range of 54mm coffee grinder burrs for the DF54 coffee grinder, including replacement burrs and alternative Espresso (Multipurpose) and Brew geometries for espresso and filter coffee.

Our 54mm range includes uncoated stainless steel and Red Titanium (AlTiN) coated burr sets, with Espresso (Multipurpose) and Brew geometries available. DF54 owners can therefore choose a straightforward replacement burr set, a more wear-resistant coated option, or a geometry better suited to their preferred brewing method.

Choosing the Right 54mm Burrs

Burr geometry has a greater influence on grind distribution and cup characteristics than the coating applied to the burr.

Depending on how you use your grinder, you can choose between:

  • Espresso (Multipurpose) – suited to espresso while retaining enough versatility for users who also grind for filter brewing.
  • Brew – designed around coarser grind ranges for filter brewing methods such as pour-over, batch brew, drip coffee and French press.

If you regularly switch between espresso and filter, the Multipurpose geometry is generally the more flexible choice. If filter coffee is your main focus, the Brew geometry provides a dedicated alternative.

For approximate starting points across different brewing methods, see our DF54 grind settings guide.

Stainless Steel or Red Titanium?

Our 54mm stainless steel flat burrs are an uncoated option suitable as either a replacement burr set or a way to change between Espresso and Brew geometry.

Our 54mm Red Titanium burrs use an AlTiN (aluminium titanium nitride) coating applied to the burr surface. The coating increases surface hardness and resistance to wear, helping the burrs retain their cutting characteristics over longer-term use.

Red Titanium is therefore primarily a durability-focused coating choice, rather than a different burr geometry or flavour profile in itself. The underlying burr geometry remains the more important factor in grind distribution and how the coffee presents in the cup.

For more detail on how the coating works and when it may be worth choosing, see our guide to Red Titanium burrs.

54mm Burr Compatibility

These burr sets are designed for the DF54 coffee grinder. A nominal 54mm diameter does not guarantee compatibility with every 54mm grinder, as mounting-hole patterns, burr thickness and burr-chamber clearance can differ between models.

After fitting a new burr set to a DF54, your previous dial settings may no longer correspond to the same grind size. Differences in burr geometry, calibration and zero point can affect the setting required for a particular brewing method. See our DF54 grind settings guide for approximate starting ranges, or our DF54 and DF64 Gen 2 care and maintenance guide for cleaning and adjustment guidance.
